McClendon House

McClendon House in Tyler, TX is a historic house museum and is open to the public. There is no admission fee, but donations are accepted. The McClendon House in Tyler, TX is a two-story red brick house built in the Italianate style. It was completed in 1871 by Dr. James McClendon and has been occupied by members of the McClendon family ever since. The McClendon House in Tyler, TX is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The McClendon House is open for tours from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Saturdays and from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Sundays. Docent-led tours are available, or visitors can explore the house on their own. The McClendon House also hosts special events throughout the year, such as Christmas at the McClendon House and the Tyler Azalea Festival Garden Party.
